Recently, we had the pleasure of debuting our newest collection online.

Our newest collection, Fall + Winter 2012 has a decidely eclectic feel. Inspired by the lush history the silk road, we chose fabrics that have a decidedly travel-inclined feel and a worldly look.  We named them accordingly, borrowing famous destinations from along the pathway of goods, spices, textiles, gems etc.

For textile and history buffs, the Silk Road has always encapsulated the beginning of globalization and a clear example of inspiration and cultural exchange.  Being travel inclined ourselves, and wanting to always be open to all the inspiration and lessons the diverse world has to offer, we feel a sort of fascination when we imagine and think back to the Silk Road.  Since we’re not sure when we will be able to make the pilgrimage and take Trans-Siberian along the path that camels once traveled, this will satisfy us for now!

Our collection, sumptuous and rich, is a perfect addition to any Fall + Winter plans, gifts and tasks!  Wishing you a prosperous, inspired and fruitful season!

New Year = New Bags & Our New Line!

As we enjoy the first few days of this fresh New Year, we are in the finishing stages of putting together our new Spring Line.  This is an exciting time for us at Sally Spicer Bags, as we are catching our breath after a fabulously busy holiday season, and preparing for our great new Spring Collection.  Along with our new fabrics, we are overjoyed to be introducing some new shapes!  Sally has been envisioning these great additions to our line for a while, and we are so thrilled to see them come to fruition!  Stay posted, as our Collection is due to launch at the end of this month!

Winter Solstice + Lunar Eclipse!

The coinciding of the Winter Solstice and the Lunar Eclipse that occured on Monday night was indeed an incredible gift! We feel fortunate to observe the beauty of the cosmos, the earth and the changing of the seasons! This leaves us with a feeling of gratitude and respect for the larger and beautiful forces that guide and influence our lives.

We are winding down the year at Sally Spicer and wishing everyone the Happiest of Holidays and Peace, Love and Joy in the New Year!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As we enter Breast Cancer Awareness month, I know that many of us are inspired to purchase items in support.

 What you might not know is that this week is the first ever National Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer Week!  As many of you know, Molly’s community service project related to her Bat Mitzvah raises money to support Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (“FORCE”), an organization dedicated to helping individuals and families with hereditary breast and ovarian cancer issues .  We at Sally Spicer proud to be a part of the Butterfly Project, which is almost one year old. The Butterfly Project line includes, the Butterfly Baguette, the Butterfly Coin Purse and the Butterfly Tote. These are available in a set as well!
