Meet our new owner & CEO!

Sally Spicer Bags is happy to announce that we have a new owner and CEO, Bay Area resident and retail guru, Bonnie Gemmell (pictured right above, with daughter Sarah).

Bonnie has a diverse background including founding a catalog & retail store of well-designed American made products in Palo Alto, running a marketing agency in Sonoma and working as an interior stylist all around the Bay Area. Now, she’s excited to be the new CEO of Sally Spicer Bags and to help the company succeed, grow and prosper.

Bonnie is joined by her daughter, Sarah Gemmell (who coincidentally goes by the nickname “Sally”!) Sarah has a background in marketing for startups and small businesses as well as copywriting, design, product development and event planning. She’ll be running day-to-day operations at Sally Spicer Bags.

Bonnie and Sarah look forward to bringing the Sally Spicer brand to more customers and retailers around the US than ever before.

Bonnie and Sarah have a strong belief in what the Sally Spicer brand has stood for since its founding in 2000: creating durable, stylish, American-made products. These things will never change about Sally Spicer Bags.

There will be other changes, however: A brand update including a new logo & website will be announced in the coming days. We hope this will modernize the brand, and allow for more versatility in the brand offering. (Like any 13-year old, we’re feeling a bit antsy in our own skin!)

There will also be updates in the bag design department: think backpacks, fanny packs, bright patterns and more!

Bottom line: stay tuned! We’ll be announcing our upcoming changes here on the blog, on Facebook & Twitter, and via email.
